廉蔺门易轨，
When you are poor, your kith and kin leave you. Lin’s hangers-on betrayed and turned to Lian;
田窦相夺移。
晨风集茂林，
Dou’s hangers-on betrayed and turned to Tian. The falcons fly to lush woods in spring breeze,
栖鸟去枯枝。
今我唯困蒙，
When autumn comes, they leave the arid trees. Now that I get into a serious plight,
群士所背驰。
乡人敦懿义，
The gentlemen have all stayed out of sight. The villagers, however, welcome me,
济济荫光仪。
对宾颂有客，
Respecting me and holding feasts in glee. They dine and wine me as an honoured guest
举觞咏露斯。
临乐何所叹，
And toast to me and wish me all the best. At present, this is what I have to say:
素丝与路歧。
No one can tell what luck he’ll have today.
