Moaning its way into my south abode. Distressed, I close the doors and lie in bed,
With trembling sounds of windows o'er my head. Inside the quiet and silent empty school,
The lofty building is so dim and cool. The cobwebs dangle from the dusty wall;
At dusk, the birds are flying round the hall. I hold a post, but nothing I achieve;
I’d like to roam the world, but I cannot leave. As laurel trees abound upon the hill,
Advanced in years I should have left at will.
