For that which is under heaven is like a holy vessel, dangerous to tamper with. #2 Those that tamper with it, harm it.#3 Those that grab at it, lose it.
故物或行或随，或歔或吹。
For among the creatures of the world some go in front, some follow; Some blow hot when others would be blowing cold.
或强或羸，或挫或隳。
Some are feeling vigorous just when others are worn out.
是以圣人去甚，去奢，去泰。
Therefore the Sage discards the absolute, the all-inclusive, the extreme.
