大學所授予之各級、各類學位名稱，由各校定之，報教育部核備後實施。
Each university shall determine the names of the various kinds and levels of degrees that it confers, and before conferral shall report these names to the Ministry of Education for review and recordation.
第3條大學學生，依大學法修業期滿，有實習年限者，實習完畢，成績及格，授予學士學位。
Article 3 A degree shall be awarded to any university student who completes with passing grades the term of study as set forth in the University Law, including any required internship period.
第4條大學雙主修學生，修滿本學系及他學系應修學分者，得分別授予學士學位。
Article 4 Separate bachelor′s degrees may be awarded to university students with double majors who have completed the required credits in their first major department and their second major department.
第5條國立空中大學全修生，依國立空中大學設置條例修滿規定學分成績及格者，授予學士學位。
Article 5 A bachelor′s degree shall be awarded to any full-time student of the National Open University who completes with passing grades the term of study and the number of credits set forth in the National Open University Establishment Statute.
前項授予學士學位，其效力溯及本法修正通過前修滿規定學分之畢業生。
The requirement of the preceding paragraph concerning the conferral of bachelor′s degrees shall apply retroactively to graduates who completed the number of credits required before the amendment to this Law was passed.
第6條大學研究所碩士班研究生，完成碩士學位應修課程，提出論文，經碩士學位考試委員會考試通過者，授予碩士學位。
Article 6 A master′s degree shall be awarded to students in university graduate school master′s degree programs who complete the required master′s degree curriculum, submit a thesis, and pass review by a master′s examination committee.
藝術類或應用科技類研究所碩士班研究生，其論文得以創作、展演連同書面報告或以技術報告代替。
Graduate students enrolled in a master′s degree program in fine arts or an applied science or technology may, in lieu of a master′s thesis, submit a creative work or performance accompanied by a written report, or a technical report.
碩士學位考試委員會置委員三人至五人，由校長遴聘之。
A master′s examination committee shall be composed of three to five members screened and appointed by the university president.
第7條大學研究所博士班研究生具有下列條件者，得為博士學位候選人：
Article 7 A graduate student enrolled in a doctoral program may be recognized as a doctoral candidate if he/she meets the following conditions:
一 完成博士學位應修課程。
1. has completed the required doctoral coursework; and
二 通過博士學位候選人資格考核。
2. has passed the doctoral candidacy examination.
前項博士學位考試委員會置委員五人至九人，由校長遴聘之。
The doctoral examination committee referred to in the preceding paragraph shall be composed of five to nine members screened and appointed by the university president.
第7- 1條學生獲得碩士、博士學位所應通過之各項考核規定，由各大學訂定，並報教育部備查。
Article 7-1 Each university shall adopt its own rules setting forth what examinations students must pass in order to obtain a master′s or doctoral degree.
These rules shall be reported to the Ministry of Education for recordation.
第8條博、碩士論文應以文件、錄影帶、錄音帶、光碟或其他方式，於國立中央圖書館保存之。
Article 8 Doctoral dissertations and master′s theses shall be prepared in any of various formats (including printed documents, videotapes, audio tapes, and compact discs) and entered into the collection of the National Central Library.
前項第三款、第四款之提聘資格認定標準，由各系 (所) 務會議訂定之。
Criteria for recognition of the qualifications listed in subparagraphs 3 and 4 of the preceding paragraph shall be determined separately by each department (graduate school) council.

第14條本國或外國人士具有下列條件之一者，得為名譽博士學位候選人：

第16條本法施行細則，由教育部定之。
Article 16 The enforcement rules for this Law shall be prescribed by the Ministry of Education.
第17條本法自公布日施行。
Article 17 This Law shall enter into force from the date of promulgation.
本法規有中英文兩個版本,在有疑義的情況下以中文版為準。
This Law is enacted in Chinese, which shall prevail in case of any discrepancy between the English translation and the Chinese original.
