I will lodge in one place, / Take my meal in another, And try to find the trace / How I parted from mother. I'll ask about aunts dear / On my way far from here.
I'll lodge in a third place / And dine in a fourth one. I'll set my cab apace; / With axles greased 'twill run. I'll hasten to go home. / Why should I not have come?
When I think of Fair Spring, / How can I not heave sighs! Thoughts of my homeland bring / Copious tears to my eyes. I drive to find relief / And drown my homesick grief.
