文公反國，三行賞而不及陶叔狐。
When Lord Wen returned to his state, he made three distributions of rewards, but Tao-shu Hu received nothing.
陶叔狐見咎犯曰：「吾從君而亡，十有三年，顏色黎黑，手足胼胝，今君反國三行賞而不及我也，意者君忘我與？
Upon meeting Jiu Fan, Hu said, “I followed his lordship in exile for thirteen years.
My skin turned dark, and my hands and feet grew calluses—but now that his lordship has returned to Jin, he has distributed rewards three times without giving me a thing.
我有大故與？
Could this mean that he has forgotten me?
子試為我言之於君！」
Or have I been guilty of some great offense?
You must lay my case before his lordship!
