魯襄公朝荊，至淮，聞荊康王卒，公欲還，叔仲昭伯曰：「君之來也，為其威也，今其王死，其威未去，何為還？」
When Lord Xiang of Lu was on his way to Chu to appear at court there, he heard, upon arriving at the Huai River, that King Kang of Chu had died.
He therefore wished to return to Lu.
Shuzhong Zhaobo97 said, “It was owing to Chu’s authority that you undertook this journey.
The king of Chu is now dead, but the authority of Chu has not departed.
Why, then, should you return?
