When Tian Ziyan51 went from Dashu52 to the walls of Pingling, whenever he met a person’s son, he would inquire about that person’s father, and, whenever he met a person’s father, he would inquire about that person’s son. Tian Zifang54 said, “He will very likely use Pingling city to rebel!” I have heard that schemes begin from within before they are openly put into practice.
