楚人遺弓,楚人得之,又何求焉!
A man of Chu leaves a bow behind, and man of Chu obtains it.
」仲尼聞之曰:「惜乎其不大!
What more is there to seek?” When Zhongni [Kongzi] heard of this, he said, “It’s a shame he didn’t speak more largely.” He also said, “A man leaves a bow behind, and a man obtains it; that’s all.
亦曰『人遺弓人得之』而已,何必楚也。
Why must Chu come into it?” Kongzi may be said to exemplify impartiality.
