说苑/孔子曰：「夫富而能富人者，欲貧而不可得也。

Kongzi said, “If one is wealthy and at the same time able to make others wealthy, then one will be unable to become poor even if one wishes to be poor.

貴而能貴人者，欲賤而不可得也。

If one is of high status and at the same time able to confer high status on others, one will be unable to sink to low status even if this is what one desires.

達而能達人者，欲窮而不可得也。」

If one is successful and at the same time able to confer success on others, then one will be unable to be trapped in difficulties even if that is one’s wish.
