子曰：“听讼，吾犹人也。
Confucius said, “In hearing litigation , I am like others.
必也，使无讼乎！”
But I try to dissuade people from starting lawsuits.”
无情者不得尽其辞，大畏民志。
When a person is ashamed of telling lies and his heart filled with dread, he knows the limit.
此谓知本。
This is called “know the limit”.
