Their spittles are regarded as real pearls.
被褐怀金玉，
Always scorned are sages in their rags —
兰蕙化为刍。
Their jewels are thrown away like garbage bags.
贤者虽独悟，
Though wise men alone can see the right,
所困在群愚。
They are cornered by fools who lack insight.
且各守尔分，
Keep your place and hold your tongue,
勿复空驰驱。
Don't run about and heed the wrong.
哀哉复哀哉，
Alas and alack for the man of worth!
此是命矣夫！
Such is the fate since his very birth.
