The north wind is bitter cold that I can’t bear. In deepest grief I spend the long, long night,
Gazing at the stars with glittering light. On the fifteenth, the moon is full again;
On the twentieth, the moon begins to wane. A traveller coming from the distant land
Brought with him a letter to my hand. The letter says that you keep me in your mind,
And the scene when you left me far behind. I’ve kept this precious letter in my sleeves;
For three years not a single word leaves. I’ve been loving you with heart and soul;
But I fear your heart is beyond control.
