In summer they come, in winter they go. However, for us poor migrant farmhands,
We have to wander on the distant lands. Who will mend the ragged coat for me?
Who will make another coat for me? My landlady is kind-hearted indeed;
She mends the coat for me when I’m in need. When her husband comes into the yard,
He looks askance at us severe and hard. The stones are visible from the waters clear.”
Alas! how hard it is to make things manifest! East, west, home is indeed the best.
