And sheds light over where the Qin's house lies.
The Qin's have reared a daughter of good fame;
Everybody calls her Luofu by name.
She's fond of raising silkworms at her ease,
Picking mulberries among the trees.
She carries baskets tied with silken strings
Attached to handle hooks of laurel rings.
She wears a hairdo fit for pretty girls
And pins upon her ears two shiny pearls.
She's dressed in softest yellow satin skirt
And wears the richest violet satin shirt.
When the traveller catches sight of Qin,
He drops his heavy load and strokes his chin.
When the young man catches sight of Qin,
He takes off cap and puts right his hairpin.
The ploughman leaves his own plough far behind;
The hoer puts his own hoe out of mind.
Quibbling at their homes will surely ensue
Because the men have gazed at fair Luofu.
A prefect from the south stops on the way;
His five strong horses wait for him and stay.
