步登北邙阪，
When I climb the northern Mangshan slope,
遥望洛阳山。
The hills around Luoyang come into scope.
洛阳何寂寞，
Dead silent is Luoyang after armed clashes,
宫室尽烧焚。
Where all its palaces are burnt to ashes.
