朝与金张期，
In the morning in this wealthy house they play;
暮宿许史家。
In the evening in that noble home they stay.
甲第面长街，
Their mighty mansions face the thoroughfare;
朱门赫嵯峨。
Their scarlet gates cause passers-by to stare.
苍梧竹叶清，
The wine from Cangwu is fresh and crude;
宜城九酝醴。
The wine from Yicheng is specially brewed.
浮醪随觞转，
Distiller's grains in cups they need not skim;
素蚁自跳波。
The foams and bubbles fill onto the brim.
美女兴齐赵，
Beautiful dancers are from Qi and Zhao;
妍唱出西巴。
Pretty singers from Xiba chant and bow.
一顾倾城国，
One look at those beauties fair and bold
千金宁足多！
Is worth more than a thousand ounces of gold.
北里献奇舞，
Exotic Beili dances rouse a cheer;
大陵奏名歌。
Famous Daling songs amuse the ear.
新声逾激楚，
The songs are new and better than Jichu,
妙伎绝阳阿。
The dances better than Yang'e and new.
玄鹤降浮云，
At this, black cranes dash from the floating cloud
鳏鱼跃中河。
While sturgeons jump in the river for the crowd.
墨翟且停车，
Mozi halts his carriage at what he's seen;
展季犹咨嗟。
Zhan Ji sings praises for the gallant scene.
淳于前行酒，
Chunyu comes forward and drinks at noon;
雍门坐相和。
Yongmen sits down and sings a merry tune.
孟公结重关，
Menggong shuts the front and inner gates,
宾客不得蹉。
So that the guests can empty cups and plates.
