My tranquil room is filled with fresh cool air. I open windows and blow out candlelight,
To find the full moon crystal clear and bright. I spend the night alone without my cares,
Like those who sleep, free from mundane affairs. As soon as I read your poem On Sad Rain,
I feel fraternal love and cordial vein. I’m worried at your trip from port to port
And deeply moved by your sincere home thought. Although I’m ridden with profoundest grief,
Your poem gives me temporary relief. I write at random in reply to your verse,
Ashamed for me to go from bad to worse.
