At sunset the south is filled with fresh spring air.
洞庭有归客，
I meet a guest returning from Dongting Lake,
潇湘逢故人。
Who says that he once met my man o'er there.
故人何不返？
Why does my man not want to come back home?
春华复应晚。
He should have known that spring will never stay.
不道新知乐，
He does not say that he has changed his mind,
只言行路远。
But only says that he's too far away.
