瞻望邈难逮，
By no means shall I leave my fellows here.
转欲患长勤。
As food and clothing all come from the land,
秉未欢时务，
I'll work hard to earn a living by my hand.
平畴交远风，
The Confucian teaching rings without doubt:
良苗亦怀新。
It's Tao, not poverty, that man should care about.
虽未量岁功，
As his words are easier said than done,
即事多所欣。
I start to turn to work hard in the sun.
行者无问津。
I am busy working with the plough,
日人相与归，
And give advice to farmers here and now.
壶浆劳近邻。
Winds from afar blow o'er the stretching field;
长吟掩柴门，
The thriving shoots foretell abundant yield.
聊为陇亩民。
Although I don't know how much I'll reap yet
