折梅寄江北。
Bar I go,
单衫杏子红，
To the north of Yangtze River
双鬓鸦雏色。
I’ll send.
西洲在何处？
I’m dressed in red like apricot aglow,
两桨桥头渡。
Curling my raven-black hair for my friend.
日暮伯劳飞，
Where is West Bar, the place of rendezvous?
风吹乌臼树。
I’ll oar to the bridge and ferry shallows.
树下即门前，
At dusk the shrikes in nests fly out of view
门中露翠钿。
When gusts of wind blow at the tallows.
开门郎不至，
The tallow trees stands before my house,
出门采红莲。
From which can be seen my jeweled head.
采莲南塘秋，
Stepping outdoors,
低头弄莲子，
I do not see my spouse,
莲子青如水。
And go to pick the lotus flowers red.
置莲怀袖中，
In autumn now,
莲心彻底红。
I go to Southern Pond,
忆郎郎不至，
See scarlet lotus flowers and pads in between.
仰首望飞鸿。
I start to play with lotus seeds beyond,
鸿飞满西洲，
Which grow in the water fresh and green.
望郎上青楼。
I hold the lotus seeds in my broad sleeves,
