Has been the practice of men of loyal make.
To ask for favours on behalf of friends
Has been something common man commends.
The grass is flattened by the border breeze;
The tunes of reed pipes grieve the flying geese.
A man abroad loves the native moon;
A southern man hates the northern tune.
I feel the grief for leaving my homelands
And feel the sorrow for the running sands.
When I look at where the sun goes down,
It seems that clouds loom over my hometown.
