In my old age I see grotesque hills.
Peaks rise above the rainbow in the sky;
Amid the clouds the hills appear to lie.
The slanting slopes delight me with surprise;
The flattened hilltops mesmerize my eyes.
The river roars and flows toward the sea,
Rushing on as far as the eyes can see.
The birchleaf pear blossoms overspread;
The cherry flowers on hills are bright and red.
I have a special bent for grass and trees,
I'll pick the herb to get away from strife
And find immortals to follow their free life.
