沅水桃花色，
With coloured sails afloat upon the lake. The Yuanshui Stream is like a peach in prime;

穴去茅山近，
The Xiangjiang Stream is sweet for pollia's sake. The lake caves lead to Mount
江连巫峡长。
带天澄迥碧，
Maoshan close by; From Wuxia Valley its clear waters run.
映日动浮光。
行舟逗远树，
Far, far away the lake melts with the azure sky And glitters with quivering lights of the sun.
度鸟息危檣。
滔滔不可测，
My sailboat anchors, facing distant trees While a small bird perches on the mast.
一苇岂能航？
The waves and billows make me ill at ease;
