The ancient trunks are resting by deep streams;

Huge rocks are lying on the cliff in dreams.
日出远岫明，
After sunrise, distant hills look fair;
鸟散空林寂。
When birds are gone, the woods have a quiet air.
兰庭动幽气，
In the orchid yard, sweet scents increase;
竹室生虚白。
The bamboo house provides a cozy peace.
落花人户飞，
The fallen petals fly into the door;
细草当阶积。
The grass grows thick and heaps on stairs before.
桂酒徒盈樽，
Although the cups are filled with cassia wine,
故人不在席。
My dear friend cannot share the drinks so fine.
