(One of Six Poems)
人道橫江好，
依道橫江惡。
They say the Crosswise River good; I say the Crosswise River rude.
一風三日吹倒山，
白浪高於瓦官閣。
If winds should blow three days, e’en hills would be blown down, And waves rise higher than the Temple① in the town.
