The Master said, "I do not know." He asked again, when the Master replied, "You, in a kingdom of a thousand chariots, might be employed to manage the military levies, but I do not know whether he be perfectly virtuous." The Master replied, "Chi, with his sash girt and standing in a court, might be employed to converse with the visitors and guests, but I do not know whether he is perfectly virtuous."
死而後已,不亦遠乎?」
Perfect virtue is the burden which he considers it is his to sustain - is it not heavy?
Only with death does his course stop - is it not long?"
子謂子貢曰:「女與回也孰愈?」對曰:「賜也何敢望回。
