One must not remain stubbornly fixed in vulgar ways nor allow oneself to be hemmed in by the views of close advisors—rather one must freely cast one’s gaze afar and stand in lofty independence, and one must frequently conduct inspections so as to secure the compliance of one’s subordinates.
