Among the old customs of Lu, the gate-keeping system of Tuli, the hunting system in Luomen, and the fishing system in Yumen were particularly consonant with the rites, so Master Kong approved of them.

夫塗里之閭，富家為貧者出；羅門之羅，有親者取多，無親者取少；b門之漁，有親者取巨，無親者取小。

The gate-keeping rules of Tuli were that the wealthy were to pay the expenses of the poor; the hunting rules of Luomen specified that those with dependents were to take more, and those without dependents were to take less; and the fishing rules of Yumen specified that those with dependents were to take the larger fish, and those without dependents were to take the smaller fish.
