齊頃公，桓公之子孫也，地廣民眾，兵強國富，又得霸者之餘尊，驕蹇怠傲，未嘗肯出會同諸侯，乃興師伐魯，反敗衛師於新築，輕小嫚大之行甚。

His territory was large, his people numerous, his armies strong, and his state wealthy; he moreover had inherited some of the prestige that his predecessor had won as chief of all the lords.
二國怒，歸求黨與，得衛及曹，四國相輔，期戰於鞍，大敗齊師，獲齊頃公，斮逄丑父。
