若似陽虎,則非丘之罪也。
One might say that my failure to rehearse the Odes and the Documents, my failure to cultivate the Rites and the Music—these are my faults.
命也夫!
As for my resemblance to Yang Hu, that is no fault of mine.
由歌,予和汝。
It is fate and that is all!
」子路歌,孔子和之,三終而甲罷。
Sing something, You [Zilu]—I will match your song.” So Zilu sang, and Kongzi matched his melodies.
By the time three rounds were done, the armored fighters were gone.
