曰：「贈汝以車乎？
“Shall I give you a carriage,” asked Kongzi, “or shall I give you words?” “Please use words,” Zilu replied.
以言乎？
Kongzi said, “Without strength, one cannot go far; without toil, one cannot succeed; without loyalty, one can have no close associates; without trustworthiness, one cannot repeat one’s accomplishments; and, without reverence, one cannot be ritually correct.
」子路曰：「請以言。
」仲尼曰：「不強不遠，不勞無功，不忠無親，不信無復，不恭無禮，慎此五者，可以長久矣。」
One who is careful with regard to these five principles will be able to carry on over long periods.
