橫風吹雨入樓斜，
Crosswinds drive the rain slanting into the tower,
壯觀應須好句夸。
Such grand spectacle deserves fine verses in praise.
雨過潮平江海碧，
After the rain, the tide calms and river and sea turn jade-green,
電光時掣紫金蛇。
Lightning flashes like purple-golden serpents across the sky.
