明月如霜，
The gentle breeze like water clean:
好風如水，
Far and wide extends the night scene.
清景無限。
In the haven fish leap
曲港跳魚，
And dew-drops roll down lotus leaves
圓荷汙露，
In solitude no man perceives.
寂寞無人見。
Drums beat thrice in the night so deep,
紞如三鼓，
A leaf falls with a tinkling sound so loud
鏗然一葉，
That gloomy, I awake from my dream of the Cloud.
黯黯夢雲驚斷。
Under the boundless pall of night,
夜茫茫，
Nowhere again can she be found
重尋無處，
Though in the small garden I have walked around.
覺來小園行遍。
A tired wayfarer far from home.
天涯倦客，
In the mountains may roam,
山中歸路，
His native land from view is blocked.
望斷故園心眼。
The Pavilion of Swallows is empty.
Where / Is the lady so fair?
