我夢扁舟浮震澤，
I dream my leaflike boat on the vast lake afloat,
雪浪搖空千頃白。
Snowlike waves surge up for miles and whiten the air.
覺來滿眼是廬山，
I wake to find Mount Lu resplendent to my eye,
倚天無數開青壁。
Blue cliffs upon blue cliffs open against the sky.
此生長接浙，
I've suffered setbacks all my life long;
與君同是江南客。
You and I sing alike the roamer's song.
夢中游，
Dreaming of boating on the lake,
覺來清賞，
I like the thrilling scene when awake,
同作飛梭擲。
And feel as happy as the shuttle flies.
明日西風還挂席，
You will set sail in western breeze tomorrow;
唱我新詞淚沾臆。
I'll croon in tears for you a new verse full of sorrow.
靈均去後楚山空，
When Poet Qu is gone, the Southern Mountain's bare.
澧陽蘭芷無顏色。
Sweet orchids and clovers will lose their hue
君才如夢得，
Like the poet of Willow Branch Song, you
武陵更在西南極。
Will go farther southwest,
《竹枝詞》，
But you may compose as a guest.
莫搖新唱，
And then who says
誰謂古今隔？
The modern age cannot surpass the bygone days?
