The twenty-first session of the Governing Council of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) will be opened at 10 a.m., on Monday, 16 April 2007 by the President of the Governing Council at its twentieth session, or, in his absence, by one of the other officers of the Governing Council at its twentieth session.

Under rule 16 of the rules of procedure of the Governing Council, the credentials of representatives must be submitted to the Executive Director at the latest before the end of the first meeting of a session of the Governing Council.
主席团随后须对此种证书进行审查、并立即就审查结果向理事会作出汇报。
The Bureau must then examine such credentials and report on them without delay to the Governing Council.

Adoption of the agenda and organization of work

Under this item, the Governing Council will adopt its agenda for the twenty-first session and thereafter decide on the organization of work for the session.

The provisional agenda was approved by the Governing Council at its twentieth session, held in Nairobi from 4 to 8 April 2005.
