振策陟崇丘，
安辔遵平莽。
I tighten reins when I ascend the hills; I loosen reins when I cross o'er the rills.
夕息抱影寐，
朝徂衔思往。
I sleep with my shadow late at night; And think my thoughts of home in broad daylight.
顿辔倚高岩，
侧听悲风响。
When I halt my horse upon a peak, I hear the grievous wind bemoan and shriek.
清露坠素辉，
明月一何朗。
Wet dews are glistening in the fair moonlight; The moon above is shining clear and bright.
抚枕不能寐，
振衣独长想。
As I toss and turn and cannot fall asleep, I rise and sink in thoughts profound and deep.
