倒裳往自开。
I got up and opened the door, half-dressed.

I asked him who he was and why he came;

The farmer came because he knew my name.
壶浆远见候，
He brought wine from afar and voiced the word
疑我与时乖。
That he had thought I was a bit absurd.
“缊缕茅檐下，
It’s not the right way of a true recluse.
未足为高栖。
Since all the world is drifting with the tide,
一世皆尚同，
I hope you will at last stand on their side.”
“深感父老言，
But it’s against my will to go their way.
禀气寡所谐。
Although I could reform my life by force,
纡辔诚可学，
I might thus go astray in my life course.
违已讵非迷！
Let’s forget about it and have a drink,
且共欢此饮，
But I will never change my mind, I think.”
