Tears drop down when I leave my kith and kin. If you ask me what is my destination,
I'll say that I'm drowned in deep frustration. As I go along the river to the north,
Thoughts of my southern home come pouring forth. When I pass the wilderness by day or night,
Not a single soul comes into sight. The stretching road is full of twists and turns;
Amid dense woods and plants, my heart yearns. At the bottom of the valley, tigers roar;
To the top of towering trees, crows soar. When the wind bemoans the silent night,
A lonely beast approaches, taking fright. The sight of nature fills me with deep woe;
Thoughts of sorrow heaping on me lay me low. I stand erect and gaze at my hometown;
I feel so lonesome that I sigh and frown.
