" It shall be a defence to a charge under regulation 37 alleging a contravention of regulation 4(1), 6(3), 13, 14(2), 15 or 30(1) if the person charged shows that he took all reasonable steps to prevent such contravention."
(1) 監督可在以下情況下，以書面豁免任何人受該項豁免內指明的本 規例任何條文規限─
(1) The Authority may exempt in writing any person from any of the provisions of these regulations specified in such exemption-
(a) 監督認為該項豁免不會損害公眾的安全;及
(a) where the Authority is of the opinion that the safety of members of the public will not be prejudiced by such exemption; and
(b) 豁免是受監督認為適當並在該項豁免內指明的合理條件所規限。
(b) subject to such reasonable conditions as the Authority thinks fit specified in such exemption.
(2) 監督可在以下情況下，以憲報公告豁免任何類別人士受該項豁免 內指明的本規例任何條文規限─
(2) The Authority may by notice in the Gazette exempt any class of persons from any of the provisions of these regulations specified in such exemption-

本規例可引稱為《氣體安全(氣體裝置技工及氣體工程承辦商註冊)規 例》。
These regulations may be cited as the Gas Safety (Registration of Gas Installers and Gas Contractors) Regulations.
在本規例中，除文意另有所指外─
" In these regulations, unless the context otherwise requires -"
“紀律處分”(disciplinary action) 指監督根據第25(1)條可對註冊 氣體裝置技工或註冊氣體工程承辦商採取的行動;
" ""disciplinary action"" (紀律處分) means any of the actions which the Authority may take under regulation 25(1) against a registered gas installer or gas contractor;"
“氣體工程承辦商”(gas contractor) 指以經營氣體裝置工程為業務 的人，不論─
" ""gas contractor""(氣體工程承辦商) means a person who as a business carries out gas installation work, whether or not-"
(a) 該人是獨自或與他人合夥經營該業務;或
(a) the person does so alone or in partnership with another person or persons; or
(b) 該業務是否屬其他業務的一部分或與其他業務有關連;
(b) such business is part of or connected with any other business;
“氣體裝置工程”(gas installation work) 指裝配、接駁、截離、 試驗、投入運作、解除運作、維修、修理或更換氣體配件，但不包括─
" ""gas installation work"" (氣體裝置工程) means the fabrication, connection, disconnection, testing, commissioning, decommissioning, maintenance, repair or replacement of gas fittings, but does not include-"
(a) 在與石油氣瓶直接相連的調壓器或接合器之處，將石油氣瓶截離 ，或將石油氣瓶接駁以代替另一石油氣瓶;或
" (a) the disconnection of a cylinder, or the connection of a cylinder in place of another cylinder, where such disconnection or connection is made at the pressure-regulator or adaptor directly connected to the cylinder concerned; or"
(b) 將本生燈截離或接駁;
(b) the disconnection or connection of a bunsen burner;
“訂明資格”(prescribed qualifications) ，就某氣體裝置工程類 別來說，指在附表2第2部中就該類別指明的資格;
" ""prescribed qualifications"" (訂明資格), in relation to a class of gas installation work, means the qualifications specified in Part 2 of Schedule 2 in respect of that class;"
“註冊紀錄冊”(register) 指根據第29條備存的註冊紀錄冊;
" ""register"" (註冊紀錄冊) means the register kept under regulation 29;"
(i) 具有適用於該工程類別的訂明資格;
(i) has the prescribed qualifications applicable to that class;
(ii) 具有的資格，是監督認為不低於第(i)節所指的訂明資格的;或
" (ii) has qualifications which, in the opinion of the Authority, are not less than the prescribed qualifications referred to in subparagraph (i); or"
(iii) 對於該類別的工程所具有的知識及有關工作經驗，是監督認為 是不少於第(i)節所指的訂明資格中所指明的。
" (iii) has, in the opinion of the Authority, such knowledge and relevant practical experience with respect to that class as is not less than that specified in the prescribed qualifications referred to in subparagraph (i)."
(1) 任何人如欲註冊為氣體裝置技工，可以認可表格向監督提出申請 ，申請時須在表格內說明─
" (1) A person may make an application in the approved form to the Authority to be registered as a gas installer but, in any case, he shall state in that form-"
(a) 他擬獲註冊為屬何種氣體裝置工程類別的技工；及
(a) the class or classes of gas installation work in respect of which he is seeking such registration; and
