木門子高使其子送之至於境,蘧伯玉曰:「鄙夫之子返矣。
」木門子高後得罪於晉君,歸蘧伯玉,伯玉言之衛君曰:「晉之賢大夫木門子高得罪於晉君,願君禮之。
」於是衛君郊迎之竟,以為上卿。
Two weeks later, the Wei ruler repealed the sentence he had pronounced against Boyu and caused him to return. Zigao of Mumen had his son escort Boyu to the border of Jin, whereupon Boyu said, “Your humble servant shall go on alone; you go back now.” Zigao of Mumen later offended the ruler of Jin and found a refuge with Boyu, who spoke to the ruler of Wei, saying, “A worthy officer of Jin, Zigao of Mumen, has offended his ruler—I hope that Your Lordship may receive him courteously.” The Wei ruler accordingly went out to the suburbs of the capital to greet him and made him a great minister.
