太宰嚭問曰：「孔子何如?對曰：「臣不足以知之。
“If you don’t know the answer, why do you serve him?” asked Pi.
」太宰曰：「子不知，何以事之？
“It is precisely because I don’t know the answer that I serve him,” replied Zigong.
」對曰：「惟不知，故事之。
夫子其猶大山林也，百姓各足其材焉。」太宰嚭曰：「
“That man is like a great stretch of mountain and forest from which the people can take all that they require.
