The Lute
神閒意定，
Leisurely and tranquil,
萬籟收聲天地靜。
When all voices are hushed, the sky and earth seem still.
玉指冰弦，
Before a tune is played
未動宮商意已傳。
By fingers and lute of jade, its feeling is conveyed.
悲風流水，
The breeze saddens the stream,
寫出寥寥千古意。
The lute exhales an unfulfilled eternal dream.
歸去無眠，
Sleepless when back, I hear
一夜餘音在耳邊。
Its music lingering all night long in the ear.
