Pursuant to Board decisions 2004/3 and 2004/15, UNOPS is building a diversified client base including: host governments and other clients, for infrastructure development operations in countries emerging from conflict or natural disaster (Afghanistan, Indonesia-Aceh, Iraq, Sri Lanka, Sudan); IFIs for infrastructure activities, complex procurement and operations management (World Bank: roads in Afghanistan; Nile River Basin initiative); and with new global funding mechanisms (e.g., as local fund agent for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria - GFATM - in a number of countries).
