Reaffirms that Member States have committed themselves to advancing human welfare, freedom and progress everywhere, and to encouraging tolerance, respect, dialogue and cooperation among different cultures, civilizations and peoples;

Also reaffirms that tolerance and respect for diversity and universal promotion and protection of human rights are mutually supportive, and recognizes that tolerance and respect for diversity effectively promote and are supported by, inter alia, the empowerment of women;
6. 邀请各国、国际与区域组织以及民间社会,包括非政府组织,在地方、国家、区域和国际各级拟订适当的方式方法,进一步促进不同文明间的对话和相互谅解,并向秘书长报告其活动;
Invites States, international and regional organizations and civil society, including non-governmental organizations, to develop appropriate ways and means at the local, national, regional and international levels to further promote dialogue and mutual understanding among civilizations and to report on their activities to the Secretary-General;

Invites the United Nations system to continue to encourage and facilitate dialogue among civilizations and formulate ways and means to promote dialogue among civilizations in the activities of the United Nations in various fields;
8. 请秘书长探讨加强《全球议程》及本决议的实施机制,并就此向大会第六十五届会议提出报告。
Requests the Secretary-General to explore enhancing implementation mechanisms for the Global Agenda and for the present resolution and to report thereon to the General Assembly at its sixty-fifth session.
