At its 3rd plenary meeting, on 21 September 2007, the General Assembly, on the recommendation of the General Committee, decided to include in the agenda of its sixty-second session the item entitled “Implementation of the outcome of the United Nations Conference on Human Settlements (Habitat II) and strengthening of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat)” and to allocate it to the Second Committee.

At the same meeting, in accordance with the provisions of section C, paragraph 3 (d), of the annex to General Assembly resolution 58/316, the Committee held a question time, during which comments were made and a question was posed by the representative of Brazil, to which the Executive Director of UN-Habitat responded.
