初六：晋如摧如贞吉罔孚裕无咎。
Promotion may be curbed; perseverance will bring good fortune.If you are at ease when you are not trusted, you will not receive any blame.
六二：晋如愁如贞吉受兹介福于其王母。
Promotion may be accompanied with worry; perseverance will bring good fortune.Blessing is obtained from the ancestors.
六三：众允悔亡。
When you win approval from your friends, regret will disappear.
九四：晋如硕鼠贞厉。
With regard to your promotion, you are as greedy as a mouse.If you go on like this, you will be in danger.
六五：悔亡失得勿恤往吉无不利。
Regret disappears; gains and losses are not to be considered.You will have good fortune if you go on; nothing stands in the way.
上九：晋其角维用伐邑厉吉无咎贞吝。
The topmost nine undivided, shows one advancing his horns.But he only uses them to punish the (rebellious people of his own) city.The position is perilous, but there will be good fortune.(Yet) however firm and correct he may be, there will be occasion for regret.
